Welcome to Turkey! Upon arrival in Istanbul, you'll be transferred to your hotel. This is the city once considered the most strategic place in the known Mediterranean world.
Start the day with breakfast before starting on a full-day city tour of Istanbul. We visit sites from the Ottoman and Byzantine eras, such as the Roman Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar, home to more than 4,000 shops. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then return to the hotel by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Istanbul.
After breakfast, we’ll visit the legendary city of Troy, renowned for its role in Homer’s Iliad and the epic Trojan War. Following the tour, we’ll travel to Canakkale for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we depart from Canakkale to explore three of the cities that received letters from John in the Book of Revelation:
After breakfast, we depart for the ancient city of Sardis, with its ruins located near the modern village of Sarte, followed by a visit to Philadelphia. At each site, we will explore the remnants of their historic churches. Nestled in a valley beneath a mountain plateau, Philadelphia is now home to the small Turkish village of Shehr Allah, meaning “City of God.” We then continue to Pamukkale, one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders, renowned for its white terraces and thermal pools. There, we’ll take time to relax and soak in the stunning scenery. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we’ll visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its healing hot springs and significant ruins. Referred to as the “Holy City,” Hierapolis is mentioned by Paul in his letter to the Colossians and is believed to be the burial place of Saint Philip. We then travel to Laodicea, located near the modern city of Denizli, where we’ll explore one of the seven churches addressed in Revelation.
Our journey continues to Colossae (present-day Honaz) whose church was mentioned in the Epistle to the Colossians. The hot springs of Hierapolis were known for their healing properties, while the cool waters of Colossae were prized for drinking. After exploring these spiritually and historically rich sites, we head to Kusadasi for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we travel to Ephesus, once the Roman capital of Asia Minor and a key centre of early Christianity from the AD 50s. Between AD 52–54, Saint Paul lived and preached here, nurturing the local church and organising his missionary efforts. It was also during this time that he wrote First Corinthians. Ephesus is one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation, reflecting its strong Christian presence.
We’ll visit the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be where she lived with John on a hill overlooking the city. After this moving visit, we’ll enjoy lunch before exploring the Basilica of St. John and the remains of the Temple of Artemis (Diana), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After this, according to the time of your return flight, you will be taken to Izmir Airport.
